We got some good news yesterday…Lennox may not have Verbal Apraxia after all. He had a speech evaluation at a private speech therapy center, and they had a different diagnosis. Speech disfluency and stuttering, two things that are very fixable. No neurological disorder, no motor planning issues. I am hopeful but weary to be too much so. He starts with a new speech pathologist on Monday and I’m going to ask that she not go by our old IEP, I want her to evaluate him as well. I hope that she agrees with the private center and not his old speech therapist, and that she doesn’t come up with something completely different. If that happens I think I’ll cry. I’m just hoping with this opportunity to have him evaluated three different times that we’ll have a consistent diagnosis.
It’s the last day in 2007. This year has brought a lot of change to my life. Just shortly after ringing in 2007 I found out I was pregnant for the third time. I started having dreams about the pregnancy almost immediately, dreams that said I had two babies in my belly. Every dream ended with me giving birth to first a boy followed by a girl. I thought it was just me feeling anxious
about adding to our family. Then at my first prenatal check up clear as the sun were two little peanuts with little hearts blinking away. Twins don’t run in our family and we conceived naturally so this was a shock to say the least. A year later and I’m still pretty much in shock. It was a long 20 weeks waiting to find out the sex and I was convinced we were having a boy and a girl (all those dreams). That part of my dream was wrong; God blessed us with two beautiful girls. I had an easy twin pregnancy and went into labor a few days before 38 weeks. The girls were delivered via c-section September 16th, thus ending the child bearing part of my life. Four kids are more then enough, so we are done.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday and an excellent New Year! We’re off to Bakersfield. The girls get to meet more of their extended family. I’m very excited to show them off. They’re over 9lbs these days-not bad! So I’ll leave you with our try at a portrait of the kiddos-
Today was a good day. It didn’t start out that way. Lately when we get up the girls are happy and sit content in bouncy seats while I feed the boys and do my morning stuff. This morning they woke up screaming-in stereo. I changed diapers, sang songs, even brought in the brothers but nothing but time changed their mood. After that rocky start the rest of the day went surprisingly well.
